On Tuesday June 22, was put intoeffect the working group metting of the National Oceanographic Comitee on Remote Sensing and Geographic Information (CONA) applied to Science of Sea "(GT.PERSIG-CONA). The meeting, chaired by Mr. Jaime Aguilera F., from Pontiff Catholic Univertsity of Valparaíso (PUCV), was with the assistance of professionals from the Institute of Fisheries Development (FIFG), the General Directorate for Maritime Territory and Merchant Shipping (DGTM), Weather Service of the Navy (SMA) and the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA) recently added to the Working Group. Also was attended by the Executive Secretary of CONA, Captain Fernando MINGRAM L., and Technical-Scientific Advisory of the Committee, Miss Patricia ALVAREZ B. One of the main issues discussed at the meeting was the programming of an "Introductory Course on Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems "to be held during the first half of August in PUCV units. The course will teach 26 hours of theorical and practical classes with seating for 20 students. The objective of the course is to train attendees at basic levels, in the various uses and applications of this tool technology. The other important topic at the meeting and is linked with the former refers to the application, at the national level, a Remote Sensing Survey, which will have a vision of the current status of the use of remote sensing in Chile, considering levels and equipment capacity, methodologies, techniques, lines of study, professionals and staff working in the area, obtained results, among others aspects. |
