SHOA ENDS HYDROGRAPHIC ANTARCTIC SURVEY

           
          Between February 11 and March 16, aboard the Naval Ship ATF "Lautaro", a group composed of Hydrographers and Oceanographers by  Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA), conducted the Survey of the International Bill N ° INT-9104, covering the Gerlache Strait and Neumayer Channel. This work is one of the three stages that are considered to complete the mapping of the sector and allow it to navigate safely getting access to scientific bases of Chile and other nations which develop important studies related to environment and general scientific field.

          This hydrographic group by civil employee Mr. Felipe Jaramillo G, remained in the area for a period of 20 days, doing work that included hydrographic surveys, oceanographic observations and geodesic measurements, using technology combined both single beam and multibeam echo sounders, which that allows knowing the seabed in detail.
