Considering the possible differences of the seabed in the bay of Concepcion, the Hydrographic an Oceanographic Service (SHOA) moved as soon as the emergency occurred last February 27 a group of professionals to the area, with allows the imput and output units with aid to victims in the region. This group of professionals led by Lieutenant Commander Miguel A. Vasquez, undertook the task of collecting, processing and delivery of hydrographic data and charts to support the work of reconstruction of the Eighth Region. Note that the work was supported by naval means and lasted 18 days, in which no rest until the mission was completed. The group was relieved with media and staff, from Puerto Montt and Valparaiso, who remain in the area fulfilling various tasks they were assigned. |
