HYDROGRAPHIC AND OCEANOGRAPHIC SERVICE OF CHILE COURSE ACCREDITATION RENEWED INTERNATIONAL HYDROGRAPHIC
CATEGORY "A"

           
          On March 5th, the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA) renewed the accreditation of the International Hydrographic Category "A" course for the next 6 years, recognized by the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO), a result that was provided in the Thirty-third Meeting of the Board on Standards of Competence (IBSC 33) of the the International Federation of Surveyors (FIG) / International Cartographic Association (ICA) and IHO.

          Since 1995, SHOA teaches, as Training Center under the Directorate of Education of the Navy, the Hydrographic course for Officers, giving the title Hydrographer Category "A", which currently enrolled three officers from the Navies of Mexico, Guatemala and Chile.
