The farewell ceremony for personnel doing transhipment and for personnel going into retirement took place at the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA), on Tuesday, December 12th. The ceremony was presided over by the Director of the Service Rear-admiral Mr. Patricio Carrasco Hellwig.

After handing the retirees a present, the Director acknowledged the work and commitment of all who have been part of SHOA, and that today finish a stage in their professional careers. "We have to say goodbye to many people with whom we have worked tirelessly for this Service. Today I want to give, each and every one of you, a sincere thank you for all your dedication. No doubt, you are exceptional people and professionals, qualities that lead to success for the new challenges that will come for you.”

Moreover, Rear-admiral Carrasco also made a tribute to the Staff of the Service because it is the people who make this Service, people are the essence and strength of the SHOA. "It is you who make this service what it is today. This group of people, your commitment, professionalism, and the joy with which you work, it is something that transcends and fills me with pride. You will always be apart of SHOA, be ambassadors wherever you are and talk about what we do, with the same enthusiasm that you demonstrate at work on a daily basis", he concluded.
