On Saturday September 10, the 22 Week of the Chilenidad was officially inaugurated in a crowded ceremony led by the mayors of the municipalities of Las Condes, La Reina and Vitacura, Mr. Francisco de la Maza Chadwick, Mr. Raul Donckaster Fernandez and Mr. Raul Torrealba del Pedregal, respectively, and the president of the Federacion de Criadores de Caballos de Chile, Luis Ivan Muñoz Rojas. The activity took place at the San Alberto Hurtado Park and within which the community, along with getting closer to our traditions, can meet part of the work of the institution, in which the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy will be present.

The opening was attended by the Director of the Service, Rear Admiral Patricio Carrasco Hellwig and the Secretary General of the Navy, Admiral Leonel Muñoz Villareal.

In the exhibition, which will remain open until September 19, visitors can internalize with the work done by the SHOA and its ongoing contribution towards the development of the country, not only from the production of National Nautical Cartography, but also, from Marine Scientific Research and the National Tsunami Warning System, among others.
