Brazilian Commander, Admiral Julio Soares de Moura along with a delegation consisting of the Brazilian Naval attaché in Chile and the military secretary, made an official visit to the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Chilean Navy, on november, 29. Admiral Soares de Moura was accompanied by the Commander-in-Chief of the Chilean Navy, Admiral Edmundo Gonzalez Valenzuela, the Head of Security and Maritime Operations, Rear Admiral Ivan Valenzuela Bosne and the Head of Education of the Chilean Navy, Commodore Victor Zanelli Suffo, who were welcomed by SHOA Director, Captain Patricio Carrasco Hellwig.

The visit began with a presentation on the functioning of the service, highlighting the History, Organization, and the main activities as well as the products that the service elaborates. Right after the presentation the delegation was exposed to the processes of the cartographic flow and the simulation of the nautical chart at the premises of the Hydrographic department. Subsequently, the group visited the historical exhibition room and saw the proper functioning at the operations room of the national tsunami warning system and the official time.

At the end of the Exhibition, Admiral Soares de Moura received a ceremonial present from the SHOA Director, signed the guestbook , and highlighted the excellent work that is done by the Service.
