A delegation of the Reconnaissance Crew of the Brazilian Air Force visited the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Chilean Navy, on Wednesday, October 24 as part of the bilateral institutional activities between the two countries. On the ocassion, visitors were joined by the the coordinator Officer of the Chilean Air Force, sub-lieutenant (A) Ricardo Chavez and welcomed by the service´s public relations Officer, Commander Emilio Boassi Ramos.

The visit started off with a presentation on the functioning of the Service, highlighting the history, organization, and the main activities as well as the products that the service elaborates.

Subsequently the delegation took a tour of the photogrammetry and Bathymetry sections of the Hydrographic Department, the Hystorical exhibition room, and the operations room of the National Tsunami Warning System where they got to know its operation during the 24 hours of the day and the advances and improvements made after the 2012 Tsunami.
