The 9th Exhibition and International Maritime Conference for Latin America, EXPONAVAL 2014, and the 5th version of the Exhibition of the Port and Maritime Industry, TRANSPORT 2014, which for the first time was carried out at the Naval Air Station of Concón, gathering more than 140 exhibitors, 32 international delegations and 29 countries, all of them based on the subject “The Challenge of the Navies and the Maritime Industry on Energy Efficiency and Environment”, took place between December 2nd and 5th.

During the event, which was inaugurated by the President Mrs. Michelle Bachelet, accompanied by the Minister of Defense Mr. Jorge Burgos, the Commander in Chief of the Chilean Navy Admiral Mr. Enrique Larrañaga; the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA) explained their duties through the exhibition of Sea Level Stations; real time information provided by the stations located along the Chilean coast; the Tsunami Flood Charts, which were displayed in both their paper and digital versions, the last one through Google Earth; and also a module of the Official Time in Chile.

The participation of the Service in these activities allows people to learn and know about the work and the professionalism with which its different areas and department operate, always aiming to deliver quality services and products to the users and the community in general.
