The Director General of Captaincy and Coast Guard of the Peruvian Navy, Vice-Admiral Mr. Edmundo DEVILLE; the Peruvian naval attaché in Chile, Captain Mr. José SAN MARTIN; and the Head of Internationals Affairs of the General Directorate of Captaincies, Commander Mr. Rino BUSTAMANTE, accompanied by the Director General of the Maritime Territory and Merchant Marine, Rear Admiral Mr. Humberto RAMÍREZ, joined by a group of Officers of the same entity visited, on Tuesday October 29th, the Hydrographic and Oceanographic Service of the Navy (SHOA, by its initials in Spanish), where they were all received by the Director of the SHOA, Captain Mr. Patricio CARRASCO.

After a presentation about the duties of the Service, the visitors toured the facilities of the Hydrography Department, where they learned about the cartographic flow; they also visited the Aerophotogrammetry section, the Bathymetry section and the Simulator of Electronic Nautical Chart. Then, they visited the Historic Exhibition Room, the Operations Room of the National Tsunami Warning System (SNAM, by its initials in Spanish) and the SHELTER of the Oceanography Department; they also visited the Time Station.

At the end of the visit, the Vice-admiral DEVILLE signed the Book for Distinguished Visitors.
